2009
Season Dates
People
need to plan schedules for next year. Unless there are any
objections, the first dual meet next year will be on May 30
with Champs on July 25th. (As opposed to June 6th to August
1st) Age up date will still be on June 1st and kids ages
will pertain to the whole season even though the first meet
is before the age up date.
Thanks,
Bruce
Thank
you for Champs
Good
morning,
I just
wanted to send a big thank you to all the teams, swimmers,
parents, volunteers, and everyone else that made Saturday
happen. Even though the campus conditions were not ideal, we
all pulled together to make it one of the smoothest running
meets in recent history.
Lost
& Found
We set
a new record for items left in the lost and found this year.
I could barely get it all in my car. There were no
electronic item turned into me (phones, Ipods. MP3's, etc).
There were sleeping bags, blankets, towels, clothes, and
chairs. The only items that were tagged were:
- A
green bag with a lot of Ryan Brookens dual meet ribbons
in it. (Had a bunch of meet sheets, markers ,times,
etc)
- A
Highlands T-shirt and cap with the name Whaley on
it
- A very
nice duffel bag with a sleeping bag in it with Oakland
airport tags and the name tag of Naas living in Castro
Valley.
- All
the other items didn't have names on them.
I will
keep the stuff for a week. After that I will donate it to
goodwill.
Thanks,
Bruce
THANKS
Good
Morning All,
I
would like to add my THANK YOU all the generous volunteers
that helped make EBSL 2008 Champs a success. I would like to
offer my thanks and apperciation to Bruce for his
committment to making things work this year - amist all the
construction and uncertaintee we faced prior to the start of
the meet Saturday. I would like to thank Peggy and Jerry for
putting together a well educated and focused group of
starters and officials, and the energy they contributed
Saturday. I would like to thank all the team Champ Reps -
there were alot of new team jobs this year and you all
worked passionately to make sure things got done (even
without the binder from the team who had the job last year)!
I would like to thank all the coaches, swimmers and parents
that respected the rules and job assingments. I would like
to give a special thank you to Betsy for taking care of
issues I didn't even know existed as well as all the ones I
directed her way. My personal perspective of the day was -
things flowed very well. We will always have our waves and
splashes to improve on for next year, though I truely
believe this year glided along with improvment from years
past.
Again
this year, I would like to have a Champs de-breifing meeting
within the next month to go over things. We will work to get
a date and get it out to you ASAP. I hope that the young
women invovled in the medical emergency at the end of the
day is doing well.
Thank
you all again for supporting Bruce and I in the role of
Co-Meet Directors!
Diana
Job
Well Done
I want
to thank the Meet Directors, Diana and Bruce, Officials,
Champ Committees, EBSL BOD, Team Presidents and Coaches for
the well run meet. When we all do our jobs the meet runs
smoothly.
It is
all about the kids and giving our children the opportunity
to have a fun summer
experience.
Regards,
Paul
