Cancellation of Speaking for Tonight's Meeting (10/29/14)

Hello Scouts and Parents,

Due to a school conflict the special speaker, and presentation on "Leave No Trace", has been cancelled for tonight's troop meeting. The "Leave No Trace" presentation will be rescheduled for another troop meeting in the near future.

So, tonight's troop meeting will be completely focused on preparing for the Cameron's Bike Hike and Campout. If you are planning on attending the Cameron's Bike Hike and Campout this weekend you need to attend this troop meeting.

If you are not planning on attending the Cameron's Bike Hike and Campout this weekend you DO NOT NEED TO ATTEND the troop meeting this evening. You are more than welcome to stay home and cheer the Giants onto victory.

POSTPONED -Cameron's Bike Hike and Campout

Hello Scout and Parents,

Due to the predicted rainfall on the coast the Bike Hike and Campout at Cameron's Inn in Half Moon Bay, scheduled for October 25 & 26, 2014 has been postponed for safety reasons. But, the Bike Hike and Campout at Cameron's Inn, in Half Moon Bay, will be rescheduled for the following weekend, Saturday, November 1 through Sunday, November 2.

Because Friday night (October 31st) is Halloween we will plan on meeting at Mr. Chan's house on Saturday, November 1st at 8:30 am. We will transport the bicycles up to Skyline Blvd via a trailer and the troop will ride from Skyline Blvd down to Cameron's Inn in Half Moon Bay. We will still plan on camping overnight and watching a "scary"movie Saturday night before returning to Mr. Chan's house on Sunday afternoon.

If you are able to attend the outing on these new dates please RSVP with Austin C. by email (
bruce@bsatroop110.org) or in person at the Wednesday night troop meeting.

Please contact Scoutmaster Randy Heald if you have any questions or concerns.

Looking for a New Place to Meet

Hello Scouts and Parents,

With the end of the year coming up quickly we are reminded that it is rechartering time. Rechartering is the BSA term used for annual renewal of boy scout membership.

Along with renewal of Boy Scout membership is the renewal of our Charter (Sponsor) organization. Our Charter Organization of record is the Contempo Homeowners Association. They have been the Charter Organization of Troop 110 for over 20 years but we have been out of their facility for the last six months. With no new news on whether we are going to be allowed back into the Contempo facility it has been suggested that maybe we look at other possible groups who might sponsor our troop.

One such suggestion as a possible sponsor, who might also have a meeting facility available, is St. Anne's Church on Dyer Ave in Union City. Many BSA troops are sponsored or meet at religious establishments.

In exploring possible sponsors, or available meeting places, I would like to know if anyone within our troop might attend St. Anne's church. Although there is nothing that says that we would have to be members of St. Anne's Church, in order to meet there, it would be nice if someone did attend, or had a contact at the church, that might help us explore this idea.

So, if anyone within our troop should attend St. Anne's Church, or have a contact within the church, could you please contact me.
